In 2006, the VTC embarked, in partnership with the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar on an ambitious programme of art classes for a small number of previously supported people to contribute to a community art programme independently.
The programme was funded through Western Care fundraising dept and the Candle Light Ball with some support around various costs from the Linenhall Arts Centre.
Four people from the VTC and five members of the public completed the course called and themed ‘Ambitions and Achievements’. The participants launched an exhibition of their work in the Linenhall Arts Centre, in attendance were members of the group and their families, representatives from Mayo Council, Western Care Association, Linenhall Arts Centre and various interested individuals.

Nicola meets Daniel
Nicola achieved a personal goal when she got to meet her idol, Daniel O'Donnell, at the Traveller's Friend in Castlebar. Daniel was still single then!

Alan's Story
One of my goals is to learn how to drive. I also know that driving without a licence has serious consequences!! The pictures below show what might happen to me if I was driving without a licence - and, don't worry, this didn't really happen - it was just a bit of role play, with the kind help of the Garda Siochana!
